I am a survivor of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Canada has shown a deep and enduring commitment to supporting Rwanda — through peacekeeping, humanitarian aid, and an ongoing partnership — and that generosity extended to my family when we immigrated here in 2002. I am grateful every day for the opportunity this country has given us, and I carry that gratitude into everything I do.
After building my career across Canada in transportation, logistics, and residential construction, I was drawn to Mapleton Township in 2019 — first to build, then to put down roots. I settled here with my family in early 2022, and I founded Sabato Homes with a single belief: that quality construction and community go hand in hand.
Now I'm running for Council because I want to give back — to the country that welcomed us, and to the community I'm proud to call home. Mapleton is growing. The land is already zoned for it. The question is whether we lead that growth with intention, or let it happen to us. I know what hundreds of new homes demand from roads, services, and infrastructure — because I build them. I'm ready to put that knowledge to work for Drayton, Alma, and Moffat.
Every family in Mapleton deserves safe roads, no matter where they live. As our communities grow, we need proper traffic calming, school zone protections, and infrastructure improvements across Drayton, Alma, and Moffat — before problems become tragedies. More families means more traffic. We plan ahead, not after.
Growing communities need gathering spaces. We're building a Mapleton where kids have safe places to play, connect, and grow. Quality parks and recreation programming keep that small-town community feel alive as new families arrive. Strong communities are built around their youth.
Hundreds of homes are coming in the next decade — the land is already zoned for it. Growth is inevitable. The question is how we manage it. As a builder, I understand what responsible development demands from roads, services, and infrastructure. Let's shape development that strengthens our small-town character rather than letting it happen to us.
